Root beer, of course, was also a highlight for the attendees.
Before entering the room, music boomed through the walls.
After walking through the doors, the bustle of student activity took the attention away from the music.
Activity centers were set up for various artistic projects. The evening also featured a "walk the line" beer goggle test, and the movie "Ocean's 11" in a separate room.
"It's pretty fun," Marinda Buck, a freshman political science major said, adding the finishing touches to a sand art picture frame. "It is a good event to appeal to anyone, any grade level."
The 'walk the line' table was set in the middle of the room.
Meredith Ditz, an ISU crime prevention officer, manned the table, which had pamphlets teaching students about the dangers of drunken driving and alcohol poisoning.
"Students like to walk the line. It's an eye-opener. I think these goggles show people their mannerisms while intoxicated, not how it feels," Ditz said, watching a young man make his attempt at a straight line. "It's an accurate idea of how they would act."
Past the art stations and brimming snack table, was a booth with people administering safe sex advice. Students seemed to flock to this table. A new additive at the table was a pair of goggles similar to the beer goggles, but replicating the sights seen when under the effects of marijuana. At this station, students were asked to open, apply and dispose of a condom while wearing these goggles.
Ashley Giltz, a junior dietician major, surprised herself and her friend. "We made a picture frame: it's gorgeous. And we learned that we're really good at putting on condoms when we're drunk!"
