People think of college parties as getting free food, having fun with friends and drinking alcohol. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship campus ministry brought everything but the alcohol to their first Un-Kegger party.

Paul Bertsch, The Area Director of Southern Indiana for Intervarsity said, "This event was put on so the students here could have a good time in a fun, safe environment. There is live music that anybody of any age can listen to and free food. This event is for everyone no matter how old you are."

The live music was provided by Bertsch's band. They played various classic rock hits, such as John Mellencamp and The Beatles. There were free hot dogs, free root beer floats and lots of people to talk to. People showed up from all around the campus just to have fun at the safe party.

Caitlin Lincourt, a senior music major and student leader for intervarsity said, "This event is great for meeting people. One of the reasons I stayed in Intervarsity is because of all the friends I have made and the fellowship of everyone."

It was a good turnout with many people. Peter Struck, a sophomore English major said, "The reason I came out tonight is because my friends were here. It is a great event and Intervarsity is an amazing campus ministry." The Un-Kegger is not just an event that takes place at ISU. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology had many people there. They have a chapter of Intervarsity on their campus. Justin Perry, a Rose-Hulman sophomore civil engineering major said, "The reason we are here is to help the ISU intervarsity chapter. It is an awesome event, and it helps the chapter get off the ground."

The event was lively and the live music was very popular. Annie Hollibaugh, a freshman interior design major said, "The reason I came tonight is for the food and to be with friends. I am not religious, but it is very laid back and comfortable. I like the people here and the root beer floats."
