Spring Week pairing fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha and sorority Chi Omega were announced as the first place winners Monday night in the Spring Week sweepstakes.
Sweepstakes points were earned by the Greeks at each of last week's spring week events.
Points were given for attending and participating in events and extra points were given to the winners of additional competitions including poster decorating, tug-of-war, Air Band competition, best carnival booth and Tandem racing. Points were also given for community service, sportsmanship and attending event planning meetings.
Representatives from the Greek organizations who participated in spring week met in Dede I Monday evening in order to hear spring week coordinator Laura James announce the point standings. The winners of individual events, including the tandem races, were acknowledged during the short presentation. Fraternity riders Josh Brackall, Drew Hauber and Jason Williams from Alpha Tao Omega, Ryan Walenga from Pi Kappa Alpha, and sorority riders Laura Bossaer, Alpha Chi Omega, and Kelly Ring, Sigma Kappa, were recognized for their four-year participation in Spring Week events.
